The B.B. King Museum and Interpretive Center becomes the Featherstone Scholarship Foundation's first SPONSOR

Cheryl McWhorter and DeLon Charley Are Selected For Black Tie Scholarship Event Entertainment

 

Gospel Recording Artist, Cheryl McWhorter and Jazz Saxophonist, DeLon Charley will entertain the crowd with Christian-Jazz selections.  Both Cheryl and DeLon are from the Birmingham, Alabama area.  Cheryl has been nominated by The Steeple Awards as 2018 New Gospel Artist Of The Year.  DeLon is an accomplished jazz saxophonist and has toured world-wide with legendary Stevie Wonder.

Featherstone Scholarship Planning Committee Will Meet To Select Scholarship Candidates

 

The Planning Committee has been formed for several purposes. Chief among the purposes is selecting high school seniors from Gentry High School and Restoration Academy in Indianola, MS as Scholarship Candidates.  These seniors will have taken a number of Math and Science classes, to include but not limited to, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.  Seniors that have excelled in these subjects are selected as viable Candidates. In addition to excelling in Math and Science, candidates will write a 500 word essay and make a presentation at the Scholarship Event.

The Planning Committee consists of Foundation Director, Ken Featherstone, Mrs. Jessie Featherstone, counselors from Restoration Academy, counselors from Gentry High School and representatives from the B.B. King Museum and Interpretive Center.

Once a scholarship winner has been selected from the upcoming graduating class, a presentation will be made at the school's award banquet.
